Crosstour CR900 Review

The Crosstour CR900 is a popular dual-channel nuance cam in the lower cost range. At just $100, it's the cheapest front end-and-rear dashboard camera we take reviewed so far.

Due to its small size and convenient wedge shape, the device is highly stealthy. It records 1080p both frontwards and to the rear. The CR900 doesn't have Wi-Fi, merely sports a 3″ screen, so yous tin review videos on the fly.

Video quality is fair overall, not besides bad for the photographic camera's price, but in low lighting situations it tin can often be hard or impossible to make out license plates. At day, forrard video quality is skillful and rear video quality is fair. At night, both the front and rear footage are boilerplate to off-white, with a bit to much glare from street and traffic lights.

That being said, the Crosstour CR900 is the cheapest acceptable quality front and rear dash cam at this time (April 2019). If you're looking for a dual camera but can't beget to pay a bit more for a Mini 0906, the CR900 might be your best choice.

A GPS unit is bachelor separately for this camera, but non included in the toll.

The front to rear camera cable is 5.9m (19.4ft) long, and then make certain that'due south sufficient for your vehicle. Longer cables are not bachelor.

Features that we similar about this photographic camera:

  • The camera is adequately intuitive to use.
  • The front lens can be swiveled upwardly and downward, too as left and right. The rear photographic camera tin exist rotated circa 240 degrees up or down, so it will fit on whatsoever type of rear window.
  • The rear photographic camera has a switch to rotate the video up or downwardly (something we haven't seen with other cameras — some let you to flip video in the camera'south card though).

Things we don't like:

  • The lock file button is in a row with iii other buttons on the right side of the camera, and then it tin can exist hard to hit without actually looking for information technology. It might be easier if you're in a country similar the United Kingdom where the driver'due south seat is on the correct-mitt side, just if not, yous're out of luck.
  • Maximum supported SD card size is only 32GB, which is quite low. However, users have reported it will work fine with a 64GB menu. Near other nuance cams will support at least 128GB or more than, though.

Summary

The Crosstour CR900 is an okay entry level front-and-rear dash cam. Withal, if you tin can afford to pay about $20 more, the Mini 0906 records slightly better video and takes larger retention cards.

Crosstour CR900 Video Samples

For full original video quality, brand sure to spotter on full screen and select maximum video resolution (use the cog icon in lower right corner). You may have to rewind the video after changing the resolution.

Day Time Front Video Sample

Day time front video is good. You can read license plates pausing the video.

Day Time Rear Video Sample

Rear video quality at day is fair. License plates of other cars are merely readable from very close.

Night Time Front Video Sample

Frontwards video quality at night is simply average. At that place's a lot of glare from street and traffic lights, and license plates are hard or impossible to read near of the time.

Dark Time Rear Video Sample

Rear video at nighttime is fair. In that location's still a lot of glare, but information technology looks a bit sharper than the forward nighttime video. License plates are readable when driving by slowly.
